Omniva informs about parcel handover dates and urges customers to act in time
As the end of the year and the busy shopping season approach, Omniva urges customers to prepare and send parcels in a timely manner, as parcel volumes increase by up to 40% in December. Parcels intended for Omniva delivery within Latvia must be handed over no later than December 20 to reach recipients by December 23. For parcels sent to Lithuania and Estonia, the last safe sending date is December 19.
To ensure parcels reach recipients before Christmas, it is important to follow the specified final sending dates and pay close attention to parcel locker load levels. Omniva emphasizes the importance of checking the pickup times of the specific parcel locker and not waiting until the last moment.
“In order to ensure reliable and fast delivery even during the busiest time of the year, we have introduced a number of additional solutions. In December, logistics teams work non-stop, 24/7, additional staff have been hired, and the vehicle fleet has been expanded. Additional delivery routes are being organized, and ‘elf’ shifts are being assigned at parcel lockers,” says Omniva’s Head of Communications, Jānis Andžāns.
Most Omniva parcels are delivered the next working day; however, the intensity of the holiday season and the load on the most popular parcel lockers may cause occasional delays. The busiest lockers are in major cities—for example, in Riga near Bērnu Pasaule, as well as in Jelgava, Liepāja, and Daugavpils—therefore customers are advised to choose less busy lockers. In some cases, a parcel may be redirected to another nearby locker.
Parcel recipients also play a very important role in ensuring faster parcel turnover. Omniva therefore urges customers to pick up parcels from lockers as quickly as possible. This helps free up space and enables smoother servicing of lockers across the network. Customers can track the status of their parcel via the Omniva self-service platform at mana.omniva.lv or in the mobile app.
The company confirms that parcel delivery will continue uninterrupted and all parcels will be delivered. “We encourage customers to remain calm even if delivery times become slightly longer—this is normal during the peak season. We are working at full capacity and doing everything possible to ensure every parcel reaches its recipient on time,” Andžāns adds.
