Record Parcel Volumes: Omniva Delivered 52 Million Parcels Last Year

In 2025, Omniva Group delivered 36 million parcels across the Baltic States and more than 50 million parcels worldwide. Compared to the previous year, total volumes increased by 11%. Meanwhile, in Latvia, Omniva delivered 10% more parcels in 2025 than in the previous year.

“The strongest growth was seen in the international transit segment, but we also recorded rapid growth in deliveries in Latvia and Lithuania. Parcel volumes in Estonia remain very high but are comparable to last year, reflecting economic uncertainty among local consumers and extremely intense competition in the delivery market,” said Omniva Group’s Chief Commercial Officer Svens Kukemelks.

Omniva’s Country Manager in Latvia, Agnese Grīnberga, emphasized that parcel volumes in Latvia reached 11.0 million units in 2025, representing a 10% increase year-on-year. In the final quarter of the year, nearly 3.0 million parcels were delivered in Latvia, which is 2% more than in the same period last year, confirming stable growth in demand.

Of all parcels delivered to the Baltic States, 24% originated from China. This share has increased compared to the previous year, when parcels from China accounted for 21% of all shipments delivered to the Baltics.

A Smooth Christmas Season Thanks to Crowdsourced Delivery

As expected, the busiest parcel delivery period was at the end of the year – from Black Friday campaigns in November through the Christmas holidays. During this time, Omniva’s largest sorting center in Kaunas set an all-time record, sorting 133,000 parcels per day. Sorting lines in Riga also operated beyond their defined capacity limits.

“This year, we successfully managed peak-season volumes. We were able to welcome Christmas Eve with confidence that all parcels received by December 20 were delivered on time – as promised,” noted A. Grīnberga.

Crowdsourced delivery made a significant contribution to these achievements. For example, in Tallinn, couriers delivered approximately 3,500 parcels per week. This clearly demonstrates that the innovative model works – there is no shortage of service providers interested in courier work, tasks are performed with high quality, and thanks to the support of crowdsourced couriers, all parcels were delivered before Christmas, while Omniva employees were protected from the usual holiday-season overload.

Omniva Expands Its Parcel Locker Network

Both public surveys and Omniva’s internal statistics show that parcel lockers are the most popular delivery method in the Baltic States. When choosing between competing parcel locker service providers, proximity to home or the workplace is the most important criterion.

“Listening to consumer preferences, we will significantly expand Omniva’s parcel locker network this year. We will move closer to people’s homes by installing community parcel lockers in villages and small towns, near apartment buildings, bus stops, and fuel stations,” said Martti Kuldma.

Community parcel lockers are smaller in size and operate on batteries, making them independent of power supply interruptions. The first 150 community parcel lockers will be completed in February–March, after which installation will begin immediately. Over the course of the year, 400–500 parcel lockers are planned to be installed.
